The United states has been at the head of the gun violence for a long time because weapons are so prevalent in our culture. The united states has been one of the countries with the most weapon violence out of the first world countries. There has been concern as to the solution to our countries problem and our problems are just becoming more and more severe. The rise in gun violence in america is not new it happens year after year the rate rises more and more families are torn apart by death. Since 2014 firearm injuries are up fifty percent while child shootings are up thirty percent.Gun deaths in the first two hundred days of the year have been raising steadily from year to year. In 2016 there were 7,608 deaths in 2017 there were 8,539 a huge jump in lives taken by firearms in such a short amount of time.In the past months it has been the highest in has been in years for all areas of weapon violence. Injuries of children general firearm injuries and defensive gun use have all risen steadily and at alarming rates.
The government has commented on the severity of the issue from the president to the department of justice stating that it is a priority for the government to face and a concern being dealt with. The department of justice has created a specific task force to help deal with the situation trying to find a way to solve our problems with gun violence. While they haven't come up with concrete solutions that everyone has agreed upon most people have their own ideas on how to solve the gun violence dilemma. Some believe a more strict and longer minimum sentence for crimes with deadly weapon use while other groups believe there should be more regulation and less weapon distribution. While most of these are violent crimes some are accidental or suicidal and others believe that safety could be a major factor and believe in more safety and training courses required for gun ownership. There is no right answer and we need to find our own ways to solve the problems that we have been faced with it may be a combination of all the ideas given that would secure a safer america but only time and legislation will tell.
